A native of Hong Kong, Tak Chun Lai began musical training at age 11. Lai completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours) at University of Melbourne in 2013, under the guidance of Tim Buzbee (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). Before studying in Australia, Lai completed a Diploma of Music Performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2009, under the guidance of Paul Luxenburg (Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra).

 

Lai has freelanced with a number of orchestras, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra Sinfonia, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Northern Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Asian Youth Orchestra.
